The Michael Philip Wedding Ceilidh Band and Conundrum Disco

The Michael Philip Band is a professional wedding ceilidh band. The band performs at wedding receptions throughout the UK and Ireland and have extensive experience in the wedding business. The band have been the resident band for the famous Atholl Palace Hogmanay Grand Ball in Pitlochry for the last 30 years.

What you can expect from the band for your wedding reception

The Michael Philip Ceilidh Band is a high energy alternative to a traditional ceilidh band or function band for weddings. The band uses the best of the traditional and modern approaches to create a fusion of ceilidh rock and traditional Scottish dancing. The band have made many commercial recordings over the years and some of these are listed below. Demo tracks can be e-mailed to prospective clients. The band work as a 3 piece band (accordion, drumkit/keyboards) with a separate DJ, but the band can expand easily to 5 by adding fiddle and/or bagpipes at an additional cost.

How does the Ceilidh Band and DJ combination work on your big night?

Here is a guide to how we combine the Ceilidh and the DJ for a wedding reception but please note that these timings can be altered or modified to meet your needs for the perfect reception.
We can alter timings to suit the crowd on the night. However, the example below sets out one popular possibility:

We are taking bookings at present sometimes two to three years in advance!. However there are always dates available particularly for Friday evenings. Please complete the contact form or call Michael directly on 07468 695071 to discuss your requirements and receive a quotation for your reception.

Dear Michael, I want to thank you for the bands performance at our wedding. It made the night. All of the guests commented on how fantastic the band were. The band/disco combination gave us loads of flexibility. Thank Louise for us- she kept the floor filled. I will be recommending you to everyone I know! Thanks again.

Mike, What a night! The whole thing went just as planned. ThankYou for taking the time to organise the first dance-the Grand March was something I think we will all remember. The way you talked everyone through he dances was fun and just got everybody involved- despite half the audience being English without any clue of Scottish dancing!. Do you have any further business cards you could send me- and please give me the details of the new website once it is live.
